Massive Fire in Bhandup: Several Shops Gutted Near Station Road, Fire Brigade Launches Major Operation

Mumbai 14 March 2026: A massive fire broke out on Saturday in the Station Road area of Bhandup (West), creating panic among local residents and shopkeepers. The blaze reportedly started in a cluster of small commercial shops located near Dreams Mall and in the vicinity of the residence of Member of Parliament Sanjay Dina Patil.
According to preliminary information, thick smoke and flames were suddenly seen erupting from a row of shops along Station Road. Soon after the incident was reported, multiple fire engines from the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and launched an intensive operation to control the blaze.
Local teams of Mumbai Police also reached the scene and cordoned off the area to maintain safety and prevent crowding. Firefighters are currently battling the flames and attempting to bring the situation under control.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. However, several shops are feared to have suffered significant damage due to the fire. The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, a large number of onlookers gathered near the site after the incident, prompting authorities to appeal to citizens to maintain a safe distance and not obstruct the ongoing rescue and firefighting operations.
Officials said that a detailed assessment of the damage and the cause of the fire will be carried out once the situation is completely brought under control.
