(In Veena Nagar, Mulund West, a tree that fell on Thursday, 26 June 2025 evening has once again created danger due to the negligence of Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) and the Municipal Corporation.)
In yesterday’s report, we highlighted that on Thursday, 26 June 2025 evening, an old tree fell outside Veena Nagar, narrowly avoiding a major accident. Following this, the Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) team, around 1 AM on 27 June 2025, cut the street light pole halfway and left it in a dangerous condition. This could have caused a serious mishap at any time, yet for five days no action was taken.
After this news report, today at around 3 PM, Dattatraya Pawar, Senior Officer of Mahavitaran Mulund, personally called us and said: “I have immediately directed the concerned engineer. Action has been taken against him for negligence and he has also been penalized. Additionally, a new team has been dispatched with orders to complete the work and install a new street light pole.”
He took complete details of the incident from us and assured that the safety of this area would be prioritized and the matter resolved as soon as possible. It was your voice that compelled Mahavitaran to act in this entire matter. Action was taken against the responsible engineer. And now, a new street light will soon be installed to keep the area safe.
Within just one hour, a new team reached Veena Nagar and completed the pending work.
Local residents also breathed a sigh of relief and thanked journalist Nitin Maniar through the media for raising this issue.
